Un par de sesiones de fotos con nuestro sobrino OTC

A couple of photo shoots of Oliver and his proud parents

Hace algún tiempo atrás, habíamos escrito algunas de las frases graciosas de los niños, pero no hemos sido consistentes. Ayer Bea nos recordó eso con la siguiente situación:

La escena ocurre en el auto, con un poco de calor y las ventanas cerradas.

B: (en tono imperativo) ¨Mamá, bájame la ventana¨

P:(interviniendo para evitar problemas) ¨Bea, olvidaste tus palabras mágicas¨(ilusamente pensando en ¨por favor¨)

Silencio

B: ¨Biddiddi Baddiddi Bum¨

A good while ago we had the intention to write down here all the funny things the kids sometimes say, but we have been very inconsistent, to put it mildly. Well, Bea remembered us to do it in this way:

The scene takes place in the car, on a relatively hot day.

B: (imperative tone) “Mommy, open up my window”

Pato: (intervening the conversation) :“Bea, you forgot your magic words” (thinking in “Please”)

Tense silence

B: ¨Biddiddi Baddiddi Bum¨

Nuestros primeros dias en Chile se pueden semejar a un delicioso malteado hecho de muchos abrazos, besos, pan batido con palta, charquican, sol y playa, todo convenientemente revuelto por los movimientos teluricos de los cuales nos habiamos olvidado. Emociones nos inundan tanto que aveces es dificil digerir dicho encantado brebaje. En las siguientes fotos podran ver nuestra feliz ebriedad. Salud!

Our first days in Chile can be described as a delicious smoothie made with lots of hugs, kisses, “pan batido” (chilean bread), charquican (traditional chilean stew), sun and beach, all conveniently shaken up with earthquakes that we had forgotten about. Sometimes we are overwhelmed with emotions that choke us and it is difficult to drink such enchanted beverage. In the following photos you will be able to witness our happy “drunkenness”. Cheers!

Es hora de irse, misión cumplida. Nos vamos con el corazón contento porque logramos muchas cosas en este pequeño y cariñoso Corvallis. Logramos estudiar y ampliar nuestros conocimientos profesionales, conocimos gente Norteamericana y de otras latidudes que nos dieron tanto cariño, vivimos la soledad que nos fortaleció como pareja y como premio creamos una hermosa familia. Le damos gracias a Dios por todos estos maravillosos regalos y por habernos cuidado todos estos años. Confiados en que nos tocará esta misma suerte en Chile nos vamos con una sonrisa de oreja a oreja.

It’s time to leave. Mission accomplished. We leave with a happy heart because we achieved many things in this little sweet Corvallis. We managed to study and broaden our professional knowledge, we meet north american people and others from other latitudes that were so kind to us, we lived in solitude making our marriage stronger and because of this we created a beautiful family. We thank God for all of these wonderful gifts and for taking care of us during our stay. Confident that we will be granted the same luxuries we leave for Chile with a great big smile.

Pero de fotos. 

Las subimos hace como dos semanas, pero son tantas fotos que no habiamos tenido el valor de crear este articulo para que las vieran. Es que el verano y Julio/Agosto fueron bien movidos y fuimos a hartas partes, cumpleagnos y demases. Ademas nos compramos (si, otra mas ) camara y obviamente habia que probarla.

Asi que aqui encontraran 400 fotos. Tomense su tiempo y disfruten!

We uploaded them about a two weeks ago, but they were so many that we didn’t have the courage to write a post inviting you to see them, but now here we are. The thing is that there were plenty of events during July/August, plus nice weather and the fact that we got another camera (yet another one ) so we have to test it!

De regalo de cumpleaños, Xime le dio a Pato uno de sus sueños: saltar en paracaídas. Si bien no
todos estaban muy convencidos (Max especialmente) y el calor era agobiante, Pato se amarró al instructor y dejó que su cara se deformara al viento y saltó sobre el cielo de Eugene, a 50 km al sur de Corvallis. Aquí van las fotos y el video lo trataremos de subir pronto.

Xime’s birthday present for Pato fulfilled one of his dreams: To skydive. Despite a bit of resistance from some family members (namely Max), and the scorching heat, Pato got strapped to his instructor and let his face to be deformed by the wind, jumping over the clear Eugene skies. Here are the pics and hopefully the video will be here shortly.

Y se fue Junio y Diciembre se acerca a pasos agigantados. Pero no nos faltaron cosas que hacer
y aquí va el poutpurri habitual del mes, incluyendo la ida a Enchanted Forest y la Gimnasia de Bea.

So June is gone and December is looming around de corner. More sun meant that we were out and
doing a ton of things so here is the usual poutpurri, including the trip to Enchanted Forest and Bea’s gymnastics.

Otro fin de semana de calor otra escapada. Esta vez al Acuario de Newport por enésima vez. Claro
que como los chicos son mas grandes, esta vez lo disfrutaron a concho. Nos tomó como veinte minutos sacar a Max de la primera sala solamente. Luego de eso, a jugar un poco en la playa, donde Bea quedó muy desilusionada de que no hubieran conchitas. Habrase visto playa semejante!

Another weekend, another time we took off. This time to Newport and the Aquarium. It wasn’t our first, but since the kids are growing, this time they really enjoyed it. Max didn’t even want to leave the first room. After the Aquarium, we went to the beach to play a little, although Bea was utterly dissapointed that there were no seashells. C’est pas posible!

A mediados de mes nos escapamos con los Concha a Silver Falls, donde aprovechamos de mojarnos
las patunas y tratar de convencer a Max de que nada iba a pasar. En lo último no nos fue muy bien,
pero en todo lo demás nos fue excelente.

Around mid June we ran to Silver Falls with the Concha family, where we timidly wetted our feet
and also tried to convince Max that everything was safe. We had little succes on the later, but everything else was perfect.
