The four days I spent in the “City that does not sleep” were fantastic. Here are some of the captured memories that were taken while I was there. ENJOY!

Pensaron que nos habiamos olvidado de ustedes? No, la verdad es que no nos
habiamos dado el tiempo de subir nuevas fotos, y como siempre pasa en otoño, después de
la avalancha de fotos del verano, como que se nos acaban las pilas, asi que no hemos
tomado muchas.

En todo caso, aquí va una mega galería (154 fotos), con fotos de los cumpleaños de Magoo y
Bea,  la ida a San Francisco, la visita del abuelo Nano y muchas otras. Ojalá les gusten!

I bet you thought we had forgotten about you, uh? No, far from it, but the
truth is we didn’t allocate time to upload new pictures. Furthermore, as
usual during fall, our picture-taking rate decreases significantly when
compared with the shot-happy summer.

In any case, here goes a MEGA gallery (154 pics), including Bea and 
Magoo’s birthday, our trip to San Francisco, the visit of grandpa Nano

Como sabran, la semana pasada sacamos fotos en un matrimonio, y para esa oportunidad 
arrendamos un lente que es de otro planeta.

Como lo tuvimos por una semana,  aprovechamos de jugar con el un poco y aqui van algunos retratos.

Con este son tres fin de semana seguidos en los que nos aventuramos a algo. Como acá era feriado largo, había que hacer algo aunque fuera por el día. Xime tuvo la brillante idea del Wildlife Safari en Winston, dos horas al sur de Corvallis. Es un zoológico relativamente pequeño, pero con la gracia de que se recorren en auto y los animales están libres. Max y Bea estaban fascinados, claro que el encuentro con la avestruz los asustó muchísimo. Aquí están las fotos

With this we completed three weekends in a row where we go our. Since this was Labor Day weekend, we had to do something to combat boredom. Xime had the brilliant idea to go out to the Wildlife Safari , in Winston, two hours south. It is a zoo where you drive around the animals which are free to wander around. Bea and particularly Max were very excited, although they had a scary moment with an ostrich. Here are the piccies.

Hola,Como saben, hace tiempo que teniamos la intención de ir de camping a la costa. Por angas o por mangas, no lo habíamos hecho. Así que hicimos de tripas corazón y nos fuimos a Newport, a nuestra playa favorita Beverly Beach, con sanguchitos y todo. Max, fiel a su costumbre, comio poco.  Pero aparte de eso lo pasaron chancho. De hecho, estaban tan cansados, que los acostamos con ropa!

Hi,As you may remember, we have been planning to go camping to the coast throughout this summer. But, for one reason or another, we always pulled back at the last minute. So finally, we plunged ahead and went to Newport, to our favorite Beverly Beach, with picnic and everything. Max, as usual, refused to eat, but other than that they had a blast. They were so tired at the  end of the day, that we put them to bed with their clothes on!

Ya no tenemos excusa, pero la verdad es que nos parecía que las fotos no iban a ser tan interesantes, pero parece que es mejor que esa decisión la tome el respetable público.Que van a ver en esta galería?

•  Unas pocas fotos del matrimonio de Rich & Katie, fotos cortesía de Kristen, una compañera de Pato.
• Muchas fotos que hemos sacado con nuestro nuevo juguete.
• La locura que quedó en el living cuando compramos unas mini carpas y túneles para que los niños jugaran. No cabía nada más en el living. Cuando al fin las armamos afuera, ni las pescaron. Grrr!
• Más fotos de los niños.
• Nuestra visita al OMSI  (Oregon Museum of Science) en Portland, donde fuimos a ver la exposición Body Works, con cuerpos disecados. Luego pasamos al Science Playground, donde jugaron con agua y conocimos un matrimonio de chilenos residente en Portland, y él es sansano!  (mondo pequeño) 😮
• Y después de eso, fuimos a cenar al Old Spaghetti Factory. yummi!

Eso es todo. Uf!

Hi again,Truth is that we are running short of excuses, but we thought that the pictures were not that interesting. Then we decided that is better to lave that judgement to our respectable audience.

•  A few pictures from Rich & Katie’s wedding, courtesy of Kristen.
• A ton of pictures taken with our new toy.
• The results of the idea to set up 3 tunnels and mini tents in the living room. They had a blast, though when we finally set it up properly (in the yard), they were not interested. Grr!
• More piccies of the kids.
• Our visit to the OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science) in Portland. We went to see the Body Works exhibition. Then we had our mandatory stop in  Science Playground, were Bea and max played with water and sand and we met a chilean couple, and he is a graduate from my alma mater! 😮
• After that, dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory. yummi!

• Dos series de fotos hoy. La primera corresponde a la visita del Sunshine Room de Bea al museo Gilbert, en Salem. Si recuerdan, nosotros habiamos ido para alla para el cumpleanos de Max, claro que esa vez solo vimos una sala. Pues bien, nos habiamos perdido el laberinto! Como habian pocos adultos, tuvimos que estar pendientes todo el tiempo de otros ninos, asi que hubo su buena dosis de locura. Los ninos lo pasaron chancho eso si.

• Two galleries today. The first one corresponds to the Sunshine Room field trip to the Gilbert’s Museum in Salem. If you can remember, we went there as a family for Max’s bday. That time we had time only to see one room, and we missed the labyrinth! Since today the adults were outnumbered by the kids, we had to keep an eye on other kids besides our owns, so there was quite a bit of craziness. The kids had lots of fun.

• La segunda galeria son unas pocas fotos del cumpleanos de Xime, de Max jugando basketball y leyendo, y del nuevo corte de pelo.

 

• The second gallery are a few pics from Xime’s bday, Max playing basketball and reading, and Bea’s new hair do.

Este fin de semana fuimos a McMinville al museo de aviacion. La verdad es que yo pensaba que iba a ser ahi no mas pero  fuimos tentados por la idea de ver el Spruce Goose, el avion de Howard Hughes (de la pelicula “El Aviador”),  y la verdad es que nos encontramos con una grata sorpresa, en el sentido de que era un museo muy lindo, con hartos aviones y otras hierbas.  

Al ver los aviones de la segunda guerra, no pude dejar de pensar en mis tios Neno y Willy, en especial mi tio Willy pues me acuerdo de cuanto disfrutaba de estas maquinas. Espero que las haya visto a traves de nuestros ojos.

Por otro lado,  era una la primera vez que ibamos a un lugar con los dos munecos caminando, asi que fue un constante perseguirlos de aqui para alla, pero entretenido al fin y al cabo.

Hi,
This past weekend we went to the Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinville. The truth is that I didn’t know what to expect from it, but we went to see the Spruce Goose, the big plane of Howard Hughes (have you seen the movie “The Aviator”). Anyway, it was a nice surprise to see it, with lots of historical planes and other stuff.

Besides, it was the first time that we went somewhere with the two kids walking, so  it was a constant chase around the museum. It was quite fun.
